Wazooki Hosto - Family Gathers
Culture & Community Education (CCE) Grant programs include “Wazooki Hosto - Family Gathers”, a program created in collaboration with Dept. of Heritage Preservation and the Ho-Chunk Museum, and funded by Ruth Foundation for the Arts. Arts-focused programming is centered around intergenerational cultural learning experiences.
Tribal Natural Resources Initiative
CCE Grant programs also include the Tribal Youth Natural Resources Initiative, a collaboration with Ho-Chunk Dept. of Natural Resources and Social Services - Youth Services. The program works to empower and uplift our youth while preserving our traditions, nurturing the natural world around us, and encouraging Natural Resource-related educational pathways and careers.
Mocassin Hikišere
This video will share the experience of Ho-Chunk Nation tribal members and employees learning the art of Ho-Chunk moccasin-making from start to finish. They are being taught by teachers who are skilled in the art of moccasin-making. Throughout the video, you will be regaled with some Ho-Chunk singing and interviews from participants of the day. This video has been brought to you through the collaboration of HCN Culture & Community Education, funded by Ruth Foundation for the Arts, and Shane Yellowthunder, videographer.
